Ella Enchanted

The book Ella Enchanted has grown to my heart since my first reading. The main character grows from a clumsy, clownish and stubborn girl to an adult mature woman while losing nothing of her humor and kindness. Also the world of the book balances on the border of the worlds of children and adults. There are fairies, centaurs and other fairy-tale creatures, but ogres, evil stepsisters and malicious spells too.
I wanted to convey this, half-fairy-tale world with my book illustrations. I used only 3 colors and refined shapes. The plant motifs makes them more colorful. As the story progressed, I also tried to convey the character development of the main character.
