kánon
My short film Kánon is a "self-film", i.e. a film about myself. During my work, I was inspired by Zbigniew Rybczynski's short film Tango, where the constantly repeating movements of the characters create a kind of ordered chaos. I made my animation reflecting on his work, with the twist that all the characters are me. The figures in the divisions of the picture play out actions characteristic of me. The sequence of actions is adapted to my daily routine, it shows my average day. These pile up on top of each other, causing noise and chaos, and then gradually run out.
The animation was made manually, with oil pastels, as the colors are very vivid and powerful, which also express me well. I built my character from simple, geometric shapes, which gives it a somewhat childish, naive effect. I created and recorded all the sounds that can be heard in the short film, and drew the movements based on them. So the film was made by me in every detail.
